Using <H1></H1> Tags - How many times can they be used on a page?

Use them on each different keyword? Can I use <h1> only on all?

Hey guys:)

Q.1. I was wondering if you guys know how many times a <h1></h1> tag can be used on a webpage on *each* different keyword phrase?

>>Can i set it up like the following on a page using *only* the <h1></h1> and bold tags?

Ex. keyword is "widget"

><h1>widget</h1>
blah blah blah...
<b>widget</b>

><h1>redwidget</h1>
blah....blah....blah...
<b>redwidget</b>

><h1>bluewidget</h1>
blah........
<b>bluewidget</b>

Q.2.Also, can i use the <b></b> tag on *each* different keyword? Like the above example.
**Too many <b></b> tags will reduce emphasis of keyword?

>>I ask because in Brett's article it states that you should use the bold tag once on the page.

Please help:)
Thank you for your help:)

i think you should use it sparingly, as if there are no SE looking (only users!)..

For your example I think it would be better if you do something like this:

<h1>Widget</h1>

blah blah <b>widget</b> blah blah

<h3>red widget</h3>
.
.
.

<h3> blue widget</b>

You could also just optimize the page for "widget" then create other optimized page for "redwidget" and other terms..

H1 is the main topic or theme for any given page. So it's probably best to use only 1 <h1> per page.

Others, like <h2> can be used many times, But keeping things in order is important.

<h1>Widgets Unlimited</h1>

..<h2>Blue Widgets</h2>
....<h3>Blue widget Features</h3>
....<h3>Blue Widget Benefits</h3>

..<h2>Red Widgets</h2>
....<h3>Red Widget Features</h3>
......<h4>Speed</h4>
......<h4>Versatility</h4>
........<h5>blah blah</h5>
....<h3>Red Widget Options</h3>
......<h4>blah blah</h4>

Thanks guys for your help:)

I appreciate it.

But what about the <b></b> for all diferent keywords on a page? I read in Brett's article that you should only use 1 <b></b>bold tag on a keyword.

So if i have *more* than 1 keyword on a page, can i use the <b></b>bold tag on *each different* keyword *only once*?

>>Meaning that for each *diferent* keyword can i use the bold tag on each one once?

For example:

<b>widgets</b>

blah blah blah...

<b>zonkers</b>

blah blah blah..

<b>superwidgets</b>

blah blah blah...

etc......

So can i use the <b></b>bold tag *only once* on each *different* individual keyword without it deemphasizing anything on the page because ofthe couple of <b>bold tags i use on each different keyword?

Well, thanks for all your help guys:)

I appreciate your helpful replies:)

Looking at the example you posted, I'd do it like this, more or less.

<h2>Blue Widgets</h2>
These are great <B>Blue Widgets</B> for your...

<h2>Red Widgets</h2>
Here are some cool <b>Red Widgets</b> that will

But yeah, it might be best to use only one <h > and one <b> for any given keyword or key phrase on a page.

I mention "key phrases" because, as shown above, one word can show up in different phrases. "Red Widgets", "Blue Widgets" etc.

Thanks ken_b:)

I appreciate your help:)

Q.1. So if i have other kws or phrases, i shoulduse bold<b> once in a given kw phrase so it does not become overused with other places where the keyword appears in a phrase?

Q.2. For example, if i had the kw "widget" and used
<b>bold on this kw then the kw appeared again down the page again in a phrase such as "widgetgadgets" and i used bold<b> on this phrase, then this would count as another kw bold<b> for the kw "widget"?

And thus it would count as each instance of the kw "widget" as empasized with <b>bold?

Ex.

<b>widget</b>
blah blah blah

<b>widgetgadgets</b>

blah blah blah

<b>widgetsprings</b>
blah blah blah</b>

etc.....

Q.3. So,...the appearance of "widget" would be bolded<b> 3 times on a page? This would be too many instances and lower the emphases of the kw "widget"?

Is this what you mean?

Well,...Thanks for your help ken_b:)

Your very helpful:)

Thanks again:)
