I recently got a hosting package that allows me to have 15 web sites hosted. I can get a static unique IP for just my sites, as opposed to sharing an IP with the other sites on the shared hosting server.
I want to have about 3 sites that are related, but on a different topic. For example, I might have a topic like comedy. So one site would be comedy movies, another site for comedy books, and another site for comedy plays.
Here's my question: Since all 3 sites would mention "comedy" a lot, would linking all of them get me banned? What if I don't link them directly to each other, but get topic-oriented link exchanges? Would the 3 on the same host and same IP, but different linking be ok? Could all 3 do a link exchange with the same sites?
I know that we're all just speculating as to how the SE's might behave in different situations, but I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice that any of you may have.
Thanks.

It's going to be like this
1. Our business is a children's boutique.
2. I'm building a seperate site for just gifts (it will share the same db with site #1.
3. I'm building a boutiuqe directory and of course will feature ours first.
I've already got the domains set up and was going to start to write code tonight. Any suggestions? I just need more traffic to site #1 and 2 and 3 are ideas to do it.
