Hi everybody:)

I have some questions. I wanted to add a couple of article pages to a site i'm working on.
So,...

Q.1. The article pages that i found are pages that are *not* allowed any type of alterations. So i can't search engine optimize the pages.

Q. Should i still use the pages for just plain content that relates to my site?

Q2. If it is not allowed to change the page content and the page seems like spam, should i use the robots tag to not index the page?
***>Will this work or will the robots still index?<**

Q.3. Should i still set the robots tag to "follow" links on *these* pages?

Q.4. If i can't optimize the pages what benefit is it to me to use the pages?

Q.5. Will having *more* pages with my *navigation* *links* on *these* pages(these pages are not search engine optimized) linked back to my main page help in rankings?

Ex.

NAVIGATION:

>home
>info
>order
>resources
>article blah blah

webpage:

>article blah blah<
<p> related content but seems like
spam for keyword. Links to main page on my site.
Robots tag used stating "no index", "follow".</p>

Q.6. Will using the robots "no index", "follow" help in not indexing the page and following the links to my site help the rankings of the site?

Q.7. What if the robots tag "follow" is used and the robots follow the page link in the article and it goes to a "spam" page on another site?

Q.8. >>>>>Is it best to just use "no index", "no follow", or, not use these types of content pages?

Please answer each question:)
Any advice on this is welcome.
Thank you very much for your help:)

Hi,

I would shortly reply to your questions:

Q.1. The article pages that i found are pages that are *not* allowed any type of alterations. So i can't search engine optimize the pages.

Q. Should i still use the pages for just plain content that relates to my site?

What do you mean with "just plain content"?

Q2. If it is not allowed to change the page content and the page seems like spam, should i use the robots tag to not index the page?
***>Will this work or will the robots still index?<**

Yes,this will work excluding the page from indexing.

Q.3. Should i still set the robots tag to "follow" links on *these* pages?

If there are links ,yes you should.

Q.4. If i can't optimize the pages what benefit is it to me to use the pages?

You should know why you want to use these pages!?...

Q.5. Will having *more* pages with my *navigation* *links* on *these* pages(these pages are not search engine optimized) linked back to my main page help in rankings?

It willn't ,of course.Any benefits is referred only to indexed pages.

Q.6. Will using the robots "no index", "follow" help in not indexing the page and following the links to my site help the rankings of the site?

See the reply above.

Q.7. What if the robots tag "follow" is used and the robots follow the page link in the article and it goes to a "spam" page on another site?

Your page/s will get caught and banned.

Q.8. >>>>>Is it best to just use "no index", "no follow", or, not use these types of content pages?

Just don't use these type of pages.
