Hello everyone,

My site is composed of main page, categories, subcategories and articles.

Let's say I have an article under a particular subcategory, the navigation shows like

Home > Aging Articles > Disease and Illnesses > Heart > Heart Attack > Levels of Bacteria in Plaque Beneath the Gum Line May Increase Risk for Heart Attacks

The last one is the title, which is a long one.

My questions, Is this an effective navigation for each page?

I see some major sites have only the title of the page as a page title and that's it.

Mine is kind of too long.

I would like to take away at least the Home.
Perhaps I should take away more, and just leave as a title of the page just the immediate subcategory and the title of the article.

Which one is right? To be seen more targeted by the search engines?

Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much.

Home can go. Maybe heart too. I think longer article titles are more helpful. But in the browser title, you'd have to knock it down to keywords. Then the article title could be in meta description. The longer the click path, the less pr will be passed down the line. Maybe that's a consideration here. Is your web site too overbroad? If it were just about aging, you could get rid of the Aging Articles category.

This is helpful,

No, the website is a health portal, and the Aging is just a Category.

Thank you.
