Best way to launch several sites?

I have about 12 ideas floating around for sites to get into adsense and was wondering if you guys could comment on the best way of starting off. Would it be to create one master domain that has a very general name and then place each site in it's own directory/sub domain OR purchase one domain for each site?

Which would be the easiest way to get into search engines etc and avoid the Google sandbox? I would think having one domain would but then again if I had several domains I could link to each of them. Just looking for the best way to get the most traffic possible!

it's the million dollar question.

If you are thinking short term, go with 1 site.

Long term, go with multiple - I was struggling with this 4 years ago and went with 2 sites instead of 1. Each site is ranked top 10 for the terms - I'm almost positive that with 1 site I wouldn't be ranked for both terms.

So you choose domain names that reflect the site then to better place in serps rather than taking one general one?

If the sites are geared toward profit, then you expect to make some right?

In order to make a buck, you'll have to spend one.

Go with 12 domains...don't link them too heavily though.
