Hey folks,

I have been looking to find some answers on this for a while but cannot come up with a concise (and definitive) answer.

If one of your target keywords appears 6 times on a page - does it make any difference if it is at the top, at the bottom, or spread out across the entire page?

Is it better to keep your valuable content near the top of the page or is it possible for it to be further down the page without impacting your page rank?

(I know closer to the top is better for humans but I do want them to scroll down and see all the other complimenting content)

I'd appreciate any wisdom you folks might have :)

Most will say that a spider will only index 100K of the page, or the upper portion. I have seen the spiders dig deeper down a page as a whole.

I would say to make sure that your keyword Density, along with title tags, and a possible H1 are all SEO ready. Then from there you can get ranked.

If you are placing all 6 of these words at the top just for the spiders, then you are on the road to bad seo. Keep it simple, and most valued for the reader while underlying your placement and techniques for the engines.

Find the balance and run with it!

This problem occured to be earlier this evening... before the benefit of this post..

So of I went to toil with my sites, Created a table gap, moved a certain portion above it and the main menu at the side below it.. So that Spiders hit the keywords before they hit the giant menu.. If that makes sense.

Fingers crossed..

what about a flash nav bar? Will that affect the 100k?
