I basically have a new website i want to promote. It is for UK and Us visitors.
I have purchased both the .co.uk & .com domain name.
The .com is for US visitors and the .co.uk is for UK visitors obviously.
From a search engine point of view is it better to host the .co.uk domain on a UK Host and the .com on a US host? Or would it be better to host both domains on same server in either US or UK?
Or would it be even better to just host the .com domain and use a subdomain uk.url.com for the uk version of the site?
Do search engines give credit to where your site is hosted?
Let me know your thoughts :-)
thanks
Allan
P.S. Do you know of any good hosting companies for my needs that you could recommened.
Yes, both Google and the new MSN do.
For the UK market host your .co.uk in the UK.
For the US market host your .com in the US.
We have talked alot about it and we agree with each other that the best solotuion is to split the hosting in to diffrent countries.
I have also seen that when you are crosslinking the diffrent languages of the site it will be better effect when you have diffrent dns and it much harder for the se´s to look at it as spam i think. I mean if you host alot of site´s on the same server it will not have the same effect as if you split it.
But again. does it matter? this is all about world wide web.
