Guys we spend hundreds on SE Promotion but is it really worth it while our competitors just cloak and earn all the money. No mater even if we report them they have sold the same products to what would have been our potential customers.

Guys is this fair? what happens to me while G figures out how to clamp down on Phantom cloakers, I struggle to get good PR but is it not all about traffic and revenue.

How does it help me when I have no idea on the percentage of unique vistors/browsers. Lets say the same 1Million people search for my search term every month, and 100 people buy my product at 10 Dollars for one but I have to refersh my website generate good content, pay for advertising etc not to mention that $10.00 is just my revenue, is the PR really that important to getting me to the top if not then just scrap it Isnt revenue king…?

Agreed, Revenue is definitely king.

Not to mention that even the Google PR can be cloaked/inflated so PR is truly just a number.

Search result positioning and profits are what should count most.

Agreed. At the end of the day it matters little of page views, referrs, search referrals, ranking, etc. What matters is how much cash is in the register. 10,000 visitors per day and $100.00 in the till will get you fired. 100 visitors per day and $10,000.00 in the till will get you a blank check.

Cheers,

I agree, it's revenue. cloakers can and will always cloak, but if doesn't convert, then cloaking is useless. but for the more "experienced" cloakers i've talked to, it does work. just have to target the right keyword and have good incoming links. Not pr, not link pop, but i call it link authority. the more authority , the better. a gazillion links and no authority or theme is usless also. but link authority and seo together will get results, as I'm learning

Things more important than traffic, PR and positioning.

1) Sales
2) Sales volume
3) ROI
4) Profits
5) Profits
6) Profits

That's the bottom line. no matter how you do it. if you're not getting a good ROI, then it's useless. I'll use whatever works, what doesn't will get tossed.

I agree. Revenue our long term goal, but getting SEO to work can be as important in the short term. Once you focus on your SEO and get a certain strategy that works well, then you know your revenue will come in.

I agree. Finding the right combination is somthing only you can find. Usually, all these books that I've read will be "their way" of seo and marketing. But like personalities, they're all different. You have to find out what works for you. sometimes, i find i can't follow other people's strategies to a T, but delvelope my own spin off and learn what works.
