Hello everyone,

I recently came to know about SEO module and its functioning and am quite fascinated by it.

Though not form a comp background, I have decided to build my own website and then drive traffic to it thru SEO...
I would like to do some research on this module and document it for my personal use as SEO is and would be a very effective tool in driving sales and mktg on internet and brigingin up sales of the company thru online mktg..
I would request you guys t let me know how to go about opening a website and what all one neds to take into consideration before choosing a hosting partner for the website.
What would be the different ways and approx amount required to register domani and host and run a website...
any help would be appreciated on this topic and also SEO, which I would like to get into detail for running my website...

thanks,

Regards,
nick

Depending on which company you register a domain through, it will cost between $7 and $30 per year. Certainly affordable.

Shared server hosting for a website could cost between $5 and $50 per month, depending on who you choose, what you need, and their level of service. For a straightforward site, there are lots of good choices towards the lower end. Leasing your own dedicated server probably starts at about $99 a month and goes up from there.

I'd look for a hosting company that provides great customer service. A tollfree 24 hour phone number answered by people who can actually help.

hello treeline,

thanks fior the info.
I think it would not be cost effective for a starter at my position to take server space..i think registering a domain and getting a comapny for hosting should be appropriate for the start...once I go big time (for which as yet I dont have the idea of time frame required) then I would lease out server space...
now my first job is to start building the website..content and look out for a doamin name...

thanks for your guidance and if you come acroo any more information, pls do let me know..your help is appreciated.

regards,
nick

The most useful guide to creating a successful website was written by Brett, who runs webmasterworld. It is at:

[searchengineworld.com...]

That should give you plenty of direction to start.
