Paying SEO for not-so-competitive keywords

Hi there,

Here's my question. I consider myself fairly good at reseaching keywords and how competitive they are, but am weak on developing webpages, and getting good rankings. Has anyone ever paid an SEO company to optimize keywords that aren't super-competitive? I believe it'd be more cost-effective (for time reasons more than money) for me. Anyone have any positive experiences hiring an SEO for this type of situation? I want to believe that there are honest SEO companies out there, but I haven't seen too many posisitve postings about it....

Hello rightliner. The reason you don't see postings about this is because it is against the Terms of Service for WebmasterWorld.

There are plenty of honest SEO companies out there. Many of them are members here at WebmasterWorld. Don't get caught up in all the hype about all the dishonesty in this industry. It happens in every industry. You just need to be diligent in your research and make sure that you fully qualify any SEO/SEM firm prior to signing a contract.

This is an excellent approach for companies/people that do not have vast amounts of money to invest into a potential ranking. Get the easy ones, start making a profit, and re-invest from there.

Of course another alternative is to dive in deeply here, absorbing everything you can from the appropriate forums, and then taking a crack at it yourself.

Some serious self-education here, and you just might realize you're a tad more capable than you presently recognize.

Remember, 'avoided expense' = profit.
