Is there a place you can report page jackers? This knucklehead copied my affiliate codes and everything so it will be a no brainer to prove.

So what's the problem James? Seems to me you just picked up another sales outlet.

This is basically a copyright issue, so enforcement and retribution will be mostly up to you and your lawyer. In the meantime, be sure to have a witness document the source code and perhaps take a screen shot. You can't do it because anyone could easily fake it.

Well, I don't want to cheat my affiliates or confuse their tracking. I signed agreements that I would only have sales from my site. . . Thanks for the tips, RC. Unless it gets serious, maybe I will just inform the site owner. The moron just lost a bunch of referrals from me, he was getting the better end of the deal.

You won't confuse their tracking, your affiliate code is likely to be all they really care about. However, that's a good point about your contract. I'd fire off an email to the affiliate group explaining that the page had been hijacked, and keep a copy of that email for your records.

James,

I've had this happen too, as long as you just want them to take it down, then send e-mail to the site owner. On the occasions it has happened to me, most respond with profuse apology and change it quickly, like it was an accident. The most often used line is - "You can be sure I'll speak to my webmaster, I had no idea he did that" - yeah ok.
