I created a site (with no links to external sites) and submitted it through several sites including [snip] Anyways, it's almost a month later and I'm not on many of the S/E's! I can't understand why not! I can't even find my site when I search for it by company name! What can I do to boost my popularity in the organic searches?

No panic! lol

If you submited properly you should appear here and there depending on the SE.
Did you subnit to directories too?

How do you check your inclusion?

I submitted to the directories as well but only a handful shows me. Google doesn't, which has me worried. I submitted and at one point I was number when searching for my company name. Then, a couple days later I had fallen all the way down to 35!

Ok, so it has no external links outbound (which I imagine looks abnormal, but we'll ignore that for a second) from your site to others - does it have any external links inbound - that is, links from other sites to yours? Did you do a domain name search to see if the url is indexed (even if not ranking)?

It's indexed from message boards but nowhere else.

When you say checking to see whether or not the site is indexed do you mean just doing a regular search of the url? (like [example.com?)...]

Also, I know that it's better if you have people linking to you. The question is where do most people find people to link to? Is it legit to just add another site's url to your page for the sake of traffic? Is there some common area where people can go to if they're looking to link to other websites or is it up to you to just contact other webmasters directly?
