Will a registered mark affect the keyword?

Let's say I am using a registered mark after a keyword that is a brand. For example, CokeŽ. Would that affect the keyword? I mean, maybe the SEs won't considered that word to be coke, but to be coke(r) which is a complete different word.

I did searches for coke and cokeŽ and got the same results. So I am guessing it makes no difference.

What do you think?
Thanks

A quick search using the top 3 search engines and it appears to have an effect to some degree. I won't use trademarks and/or service marks in
<title>
elements but, I have no problems using them in main copy. I do try to use them sparingly and where appropriate.

P.S. Google results are the same. MSN and Yahoo! return different results.
