Can search engines black ball you or can you be black balled by allowing the wrong ones to crawl your site?
You know, I knew nothing yesterday before I came to this site. It's the best in the world! Now I know just a wee bit more than nothing! *smiles*

I don't think that could happen. If you want to block certain spiders then use a robots.txt file.

The important SEs really don't care if you let their competitors on your site or not. To tell you the truth, they don't care if you let them on your site or not. They are very take it or leave it type creatures.

There are literally billions of webpages out there. SEs are powered by programs and machines. Black balling would not only be time consuming, it would be a petty gesture that would only hurt their reputation.
