I've heard of something callled the Top100or the top 50 websites and they claim to help you site rize in the search engines, I have my doubts, it's the type of site where other people come in and vote on your sie

is this a god idea or bad one?

I don't think it really is that great a concept, off the top of my head and I don't think really it will get my site anywhere,but just wanted to verify with you.

If you are talking about a webring than it will bring some traffic (don't expect alot). Most likely it is just not worth it. Alexa.com runs one of the more popular ranking system and it does not bring any additional traffic.

Others claim Alexa.com is worthless as well (for small sites)
