Google, MSN and Yahoo SEO

We know the similarities but what are the differences?

We all are aware of the general principles of SEO in optimising a site and there are many things common when we optimise a site so that it could rank good in the three major search engines (and several others) but what are the differences that stand out with features specific to each search engine?

Lets say we have three websites with same or related keywords that we need to optimise for each search engines so that only "one" of the three sites appears in the top 10 for each search engine. Site A which is optimised for yahoo should be in the top 10 of yahoo serps only but not in google or msn for the same keywords and site B which is in the top 10 for msn serps should not be in the top google or yahoo serps. For this discussion, I am referring to the msn search engine in its present state and not the new one with changes expected in the future.

Firstly, is the above scenario possible or not?
If yes, what's the best way to achieve the above results?
What are the things that we ought to do or not to do?

What do fellow ww members say?

Y & M nearly the same, good copy title tags blah blah blah.

G depends on phases of the moon and how many chickens have been sacrificed when you submit your site, apart from that I have no ficking idea at all.

It looks like Google likes the title more than Yahoo! and Yahoo! seems to like link popularity more than Google. The new MSN search engine is to new to really know for sure and it's not stable yet.

See now, I see the reverse for Google & Yahoo. Yahoo is more on-page factors from what I can judge. I do agree that the new MSN is still too much in the rough to give undue attention to. It's pretty obvious what works, so obvious they'll have to change it considerably.

google goes for the title and description(basically) and the keywords in these tags and somewhat on the page size.
but yahoo has link popularity one of the top priorities along with the keywords.
at present or previous MSN was almost similar to Yahoo but MSN generally avoid dynamic URls.

so if you want to get good ranking for dyanmic pages then google is best and for static pages yahoo and MSN are good.
