Forum Moderators: open
I've read Brett's guide for 26 things to do on a site to be successful in a year. Thank you Brett, everyone here seems to swear by it, so I'm trying to follow it.
Just so you know, I'm opening an online store that uses a template format. Now, knowing that I have an online store and that content is king, what type of content should I add...some forum, a review, news of the day. I'm not sure Brett's comments were directed to an online storefront, where they? If so, can anyone recommend a storefront site that does so, as I'd like to get more familiar with it.
Thanks everyone! Great site!
Mike
Since I am new, and want to keep my line limited, I don't want to keep adding a bunch of new products. I'd rather show all the products now, maybe adding 5-10 "new" items per month, or just put some items up for sale. Addiing new content everyday would be challenging. Please help me think out of the box. Let's say for example I sell Craftsman tools (I don't), but there are very little "new" items added to Craftsman tools daily/weekly or even monthly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

We've tried to follow those suggestions for our online store, and come up with a "features" section. Essentially a "feature" is a list of widgets based around a particular theme - for example special events, widget types, widget producers, etc. We try to add a new feature page every few days.
Obviously this approach won't work for every type of widget, but it is appropriate for the widgets we sell.
I'll sticky you the URL to look at.
Nice site Pete! Thanks for the link. I'll review the features section and see how I could incorprate something similar.
Donovan, regarding newsletters, I assuming you are suggesting putting a page which is the actual newsletter and then sending it out as well via e-mail, correct? Ok, I could see that. Btw, what e-newsletter programs do people recommend?
Thanks again for both your help! :)
