Hi

i have a problem:

A prospective customer site1.com, séléctionné one of our concurents site2.com for his solution of referencing.

The customer indicated to me that the choice did not come from the price which we propose because we were better from this point of view. I see sending this message to have your opinion on the question. Site1 thus preferred to direct its choice towards a solution bringing more traffic to its new site. Company Site2 promises by contract 40' 000 visits as from the 4 3rd months. According to Site1, company Site2 uses a gate with strong PageRank and establishes a link towards the site of its customers so that they benefit from this high PageRank. I do not think that this method is really interessante, except so that Google more often comes crawler the sites from the customers.

Moreover, even if one does not need negliger the impact of the Rank Page, we see tous.les.jours sites with a PR of 1 or 2 front of the sites with PR of 5 or 6... Site1 préfére thus to privilege the traffic rather than positioning and the visibility on the search engines. Site2 proposes a work on 100 expressions and carries its guarantee on a signal 20. On our side, we are not in agreement with this strategy who do not bring Net surfers "interessants" for a site of E-trade but just of the passage on a site.

What think about it?

Bonjour -Hi,

What is being proposed to your customers by the others is just a rip off..."poussiere dans les yeux"

The number of visitors is totally irrelevant if they are not actually searching for what is on offer and therefore likely to be interested by it ...

I'm presuming from your post that we are in the same country ( France)?

Unfortunately most companies here still think that the net is like setting up your shop at the "tete de gondole " nearest the entrance in the supermarket ..

That only sells to impulse buyers...

They will stop , linger and in 99.9% of cases move on ..( only on the net they just cost you bandwidth for no sale ) ...

What you need to be getting is not volume but quality ....and interested landings ...

These you can only "bring in" yourself via the "engines" ....

You and your customer might like to consider "engines" as a "jeux de mots"...

They drive the internet and all the businesses on it ...

You need like any engine ( moteur) to "tune" them ..in the "English sense of the Word" ..for you read "accorder" to your site and

Thats SEO ....

The only businesses on the net that gain from just the volume of the passing traffic are pron and gambling ...and even there the conversion rates are not so good ..just the margins are high enough to support the outlay and the tactics ..

Desole pour les quelques fauts d'orthographe ..'suis a court du temps ...

That other company could be using "extraordinary" and/or underhanded means to hijack visitors to the client's site. And are they promising and able to prove that they will really be human being visitors that will come?
