linking over 500 domains

linking over 500 domains

A little help for a newbie please. I have over 500 promotional sites that basically go to 1 asp page. This asp page is generated dynamically with content & meta's. All domains are hosted on 1 virtual server, but they are all root domains. My question is how do I link all 500 together without spamming the se's?
For my main site, I already have a high link popularity.
Question #2: Could I possibly create my own web ring? Will I be penalized for that?

Thanks in advance!

>link all 500 together without spamming the se's?

That's a contradiction.

>Could I possibly create my own web ring?

Sure, that's a no brainer.

>Will I be penalized for that?

Yep, another no brainer.

Ummm, do I have this right: 500 domains on one server, all pointing to a single $$ page?

And those 500 sites haven't been banned or demoted in some way already? What's your secret? Can I hire you as a consultant? ;-)

Doesn't Yahoo, and CNET (home of download com) and lots of other sites do this as well?

With over 500 of your own domains? I hope so.

Robert Charlton, what was that discussion we were having re IP's? This one is a bit surprising, I must say...

This one is a bit surprising, I must say...

You mean because it's so subtle? ;)

Are we being too rough on whpchris? I don't know whether he's pulling our leg. I have seen stranger things tried in earnest, but not on this scale.

whpchris - If you are asking in earnest, welcome to the board. You do have a bunch of reading to do. I'd start with the Library sections of most of the major forums... and forget about gaming the engines at least until you know as much as they do.

Best to start building one site on one domain that's actually worth linking to.

yes, i am in earnest. my sites are in asp, and have dynamic content as well as dynamic titles, keywords, and meta's.
for my main site, i already have a link popularity of 49,000, and that's just for 1 page, with no external links.
i have been reading up on pr's, and i have found alot of useful information in this forum over the past couple of days. (thanks webmasterworld)
hosting these domains on different servers is economically inefficient for me.
it seems that all of my link popularity is in msn, yahoo, and hotbot, but i have 0 for google.
my first impression was that i was being penalized by google, but doing a search in there, using my keywords, i dominate alot of the pages.

I'll just point out what seems obvious to me: You can have multiple domains pointing to different IP addresses all on the same server.

But Google may be able to detect this too, based on the MAC address.

So you have 49,000 links none of which happen to pass a red cent of PR on to you but obviously must pass on some anchor text relevance?

Note to self. Leave this thread. Find gun. Turn backwards. Pull Trigger.

That's exactly why other forums mention that Webmasterworld has so many arrogant people.

Glad I'm not trying to learn the basics here. Nightmare.

It just sounds like someone posting a bogus thread. I mean, excuse me if you're not, but this just sort of defies logic.

And I think that we could all learn from whpchris. He's managed to get 49,000 incoming links to a one page site, plus has 500 other domains on one server that haven't incurred penalization. Ahh, top that off with dominating SERPs.

Is he really in need of help?
