Doorway Pages

hey chaps :)

what do you guys think - are doorway pages still viewed as doorway pages if they are full of content, describe the sites product etc and are mainly taking advantage of a keyword domain name.
No redirects, no trickery etc, just one content rich page plus a domain with one link on it to the main site.

i am fairly new to search optimisation and use a doorway page with no redirects, i have managed to gain several high rankings on google using it although i am still playing around with the content.

I beleive such doorway pages are even recommended for better user experience. Of course, it depends on your industry.

you want to be careful about orphaned pages, pages that are not linked to from your site.

Doorway pages got a bad rep because a lot of folks were churning them out using a computer to create the content. However, if you provide each page with unique on topic content, and use the regular site navigation menu, and at least have some pages on the main site that link to this page to keep it from being orphaned, then you'll be alright, and you'll do well.

I've opted for 3-4 page "doorway sites" as opposed to one page, and i'd forgotten about them being orphaned, thanks :)
