Random Title/Metatags

Is this a good idea for SEO?

I'm trying to make it look like I update my site often. I have dynamically generated content that changes at random for every visit.

One thing I am thinking about changing is the title and meta tags at random. Is this a good idea?

Titles are a very very important part of what a search engine uses to rank your site. I had a friend who did the same thing, I made the suggestion to remove the random titles and he began to get much better placements for his keyword. Keep in mind as well that titles are what ends up in a person's bookmarks when they bookmark your site and is what they will click on if you show up as a result for a search. These are other great reasons to keep a consistent title. I would suggest you look at a consistent title.

Hi karmov,

Is you suggestion for the title oriented to a per page basis or a per site basis?

meaning, I suppose is good to dinamically generate a fix title for every page and keep it always the same, but is not neccesary (and I suppose not good) to have the same title for every page in the site.

Am I right?

Carlos.

Good points Karmov.

I knew that there had to be a good reason not to make the title random. I simply couldn't think of any reason not to do it.

Right caspita, a single title for all of your site is also bad for similar reasons. All of your pages would have the same keywords in their title even though they are discussing different topics. Also, if someone wants to bookmark 2 pages on your site, both bookmarks would have exactly the same name.

A unique, targetted, meaningful title for each page is what you're looking for. When I inheritted the site I now maintain, it had a single title for all pages in the entire site. That was one of the first things I changed and it made a world of difference in for search engine results.
