Hi folks,
I started my website 3 weeks back. 30% of the site is indexed by Google when I last checked with a PR 0. I currently get 300 visitor and 1k page views per day. Half the traffic is from AdWords and the rest repeats. Eventhough its constantly increasing, I am kinda growing impatient. I know it takes time .. but I wanna reach 1K visitors per day ASAP. Can members share where they are at and how long they have been online? It really helps me understand the dynamics and hopefully become more patient :-)

BTW mine is av IT educational/tutorial site for data warehouses.

Please mention:

* How long since the site has been started
* Uniques per day
* Page Views Per day
* Page Rank
* How many pages in the site
* Major events that caused big and sustained spikes in traffic (such as google indexing or Backlink from PRHigh site)
* Any other important data I missed ..

Thanks for Sharing this on behalf of all newbies

Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy the information you will receive here.

all i can tell you is to increase your link popularity. Get as many backlinks as possible, and also add more pages. The more pages you have relating to your topic, the more visitors you will see. Trust me. Do that, and your pageviews and visitors will slowly...but surely increase. Goodluck

We're a promotional portal for certain Internet entertainment, not spammy, obtained PR 5 within two months of being indexed through controlled link exchanges, got google visiting every day approximately three weeks after the initial indexing (it actually started coming sooner and sooner until we could see it coming to check us out every day), rose to PR6 in another month (many SEO tweaks were employed). The site has approximately 250 pages, no frames, is mostly static, no javascript. Very competitive area, we appear in SERPs at pages 2-3 in Google for primary two word keywords, first pages in SERPs for primary three word keyphrases, and very often first place for four work keyphrases.

Our index page is approximately 45 kilobytes.

I'm sorry I can't disclose any particulars on the traffic. Hope this helps.

Out of curiosity, how did you increase the frequency of Google visiting your site? Google visits us about every 3 weeks or so and we have a Google PageRank rating of 5/10.

Thanks in advance,

My site is crawled daily and has a PR 3/10. While I am not an expert, here is what I did notice.

Google started coming more frequently, every week, then every few days etc. I was updating content daily with a fresh link to the new content on my homepage. Then easter came and I went out of town for about 4 nights. I think I took the night off before and after also the easter holiday (so took off 6 nights).

I came back and google was no longer visiting my homepage daily. Google is now returning to my site daily and I have been putting up fresh content daily. Unfortunately I view this as a burden as I feel pressure to put something up daily, so its cutting into my computer gaming time =)

Anyways, what I am trying to get at, it appears that google will crawl your site if you simply refresh your web site with quality content on a daily basis. But you have to do this over time and prove to googlebot that your serious about it.

Googlebot visits us every day or two and ya, I would say that one of the components is fresh content and links for Googlebot to chew on. Though from what I've read around here your PR is another component of that formula as well.
