Best way to submit

How can I best submit my sites

I was wandering If anyone could advise me of the best way to submit my sites to search engines.

Obviously all major search have a free submission but do not guarentee the inclusion, then there is the option of paying for express listing with each search engine, and then there is option 3 the likes of Submitit.com submitpro etc the promise the earth bysubmitting to all major search engines and directories for what seems a reasonable price but I am wandering what results they actually give and have they just not wrote a script which submits your URL to all of the Free Submission pages and are charging between 150-300 pounds for the privledge of using it.

It seems a very confusing grey area of the industry.

Please can someone shed some light onto it for me

My advice: Don't bother with these automated tools. Just collect links coming into your website and the search engines will find you. If you must submit, then submit for free to Google and Yahoo.

I haven't bothered to submit a new site to any search engine for a year or so now. It dosen't help.
