I currently have been using AddWeb to do automatic submission to engines, though our content gets refreshed in the engines i cease to see an improvement in our rankings. Anyone have suggestions on a new software or tips. thanks

one more question, since there are so many engines, submitting to the big names should cover all areas?

Yes. You'll probably have a few specialty SE's that you'll submit to but for the most part, there are two major search engines right now; Google and Yahoo!

Then you have your PPC (Pay-Per-Click) search engines and any directories that you may be submitting to.
