Will the search engine take it as spam if i translate a site from a translation software into German language and then run it on a same OR different domain with regional extension (.de) . I know that the translation quality will not be good, but otherwise what do you think that engines will accept that site delightedly. Will they take it as same information in other language and hence will penalize for duplicate content. Will engine recognize that the there is a Grammatical mistake in the content of this site.
Just wondering!
Thanks
getting a professionally done translation isn't particularly expensive and in the mean time simply offer a link to an online translator on your English language site
the general rule for using automatic translation is that you offer text written in your native language so that it's at least coherent to start with, and then if somebody needs to use a translation they can use the translation software with output theu are familiar with...they all have their "quirks" and one quickly gets used to them
since English is such a commonly understood language, the main reasons for having pages in other languages for an English speaking orgainsation is ease of use for visitors, and to show respect for their language...using an extremely poor translation achieves neither of these goals

The statistics I know say that i.e. in Germany only 25% of the peoble are really able to read and write English. So you simply wouldn't reach the other 75% of the internet users if you don't have your website translated into German. Same situation in France, Italy and Spain.
@robinponty
I doubt the search engine spider would recognize the bad grammar. But software translated text always leaves a nonprofessional impression and is often hard to read for the visitor.

He is asking me to do it on a new domain (country level like .de or .fr etc) where he do not want to disclose his company name. He is mad after money and saying that sice he has invested money in getting the content developed for one language (english), he would like to earn maximum out of it.
Do you think that this is spam he said that even if the people don't find good and correct content , they can obviously click on adsense.
My point to him is that this is spam. But I do not have much points to convince him. He also said that If i do not do this, he may consider other vendor though he is pretty happy with my services till now.
Also, the point i want to give him is that he will not make much money, though i feel that in other languages, he may rank high as well because of less competition.
What do you guys suggest? Is this a spam?
I do not want to spoil my name, if this is a spam.
Thanks all for the help.
Personally I think that the domains will NOT be blacklisted because the content is in different language and same content can be translated and put on the site in different languages legitimately.
The only reason, I do not want to do is the Output will not be a quality output.
Can you please advice,
Why it is a not spam If I ask him to get a quality translation done from a professional
AND
It is a spam when he do the software translation.
thanks all for your help.
