Does Google Promote Official Websites

Hi All, Does anyone think that Google will promote an official website above a non-official? Does it even recognise official websites?

An example would be, does google give precidence to Disney.com for disney keywords because it is the official site?

Any thoughts?

The search engine will determine which web page is best suited for a search using a slew of factors. There are still cases where official web sites rank below keyphrase competitors but in big industry this is rare as most official corporate web sites have attained indisputable authoritativeness.
