Monitoring progress in natural G listings

Adword tool or G main search page?

Hi Guys n Gals,

I've got a perennial problem of monitoring my site's progress in natural G search listings.

If I visit G.co.uk or G.com I get one reading; and the G. Adword tool gives me a very different impression. Which is reality?

FYI, I'm sitting in Le Midi, avoiding using the G.fr page, but still not sure what you're seeing in the English-speaking world outside!

Errr, thanks, but it is a rather philosophical debate that doesn't help me with the 'here and now' reality of getting a general picture of my progress vis a vis someone who has no 'history' of searching for my kind of product.

It is rather redolent of the old structuralist/phenomenologists debate in Political Sociology in the 1970's. If everything is relativized then there is no reality outside of your own head - obviously garbage! For the record, the structuralists won.

So can anyone see outside the paramaters of this debate and point me to the promised land?
