Hi everybody, I have a new website which is two months old. I am working very hard on the site by posting at least 20 original articles on the site, building back links by posting articles to external directories etc. Though I have around 300 pages and 40 backlinks indexed by google I am not getting a good SERP for the target keywords.

I am very new to SEO and sometimes get dejected due to nil results :( after a very hard work (getting only 150 pageviews daily)

Now I came to know that site age also plays a role in SERP. Can anybody tell me what is a good site age to expect the results in SERPs.

Please somebody help me so that I can correct myself if I am doing something fundamentally wrong.

A lot of that will depend on the market you are going after and the type/quality of backlinks you are getting.

In an extremely competitive market, it may take 6 months to 2 years to begin ranking. In less competitive markets, with the right type of backlinks and on-page SEO, you can rank within a couple of months.

Age of site is only 1 factor and honestly, a somewhat small one, if other things are done correctly.

Hi Philosopher and Sevamaster,

Thanks for the replies. Helped me to actually be patient about getting results.

However, for certain keywords I found my site appears in 10th page, with search position ranging from 90 to 110. Is there any way that these SE positions can be improved?

Again, thanks in advance.

Hi careerskk,

You can improve you SE positions by targeting a related keywords(secondary Keywords) and primary keywords .

Work on Few Points:

Check the keyword density of target keyword in web page.
Increases the internal links for target keywords.
Optimize the pages for target keywords.
Get the back links for target keywords.
Analysis the competitor websites and there ranking factors.
