Multi Site SEO Advice required

Hi Guys

Looking for some advice about setting up some hosting for some multi sites and particularly how it affects SEO.

I am going to be creating many 50+ sites with Joomla and each one will have a unique .co.uk domain name eg bluewidgetsleeds.co.uk and bluewidgetsmanchester.co.uk. now the question is do i create individual hosting accounts for each site OR do i create one big site with subdomains eg leeds.bluewidgetsuk.co.uk or bluewidgetsuk.co.uk/leeds being forwarded from the individual domain name. each town will have its own joomla install and will be independant, but owned by the larger company.

will i gain anything (SEO) by having them under one TLD ?
if so, whats the best way to do this ?
forward the domain ? or 301 redirect ?

looking forward to your answers

thanks in advance

It is better SEO-wise to sowly build up the 50, interlinked, domains.

It is perhaps easier to manage if they were all in one place, cheaper too but sounds to me like each domain has unique, maybe even unrelated content.

Weigh it out. Personally, I like building more and more ...

thanks for your reply. i finally decided to put them all in one place and interlink them, they do have similar subjects but i guess the content is gonna be different for each site.

thanks again

I also agree here with canadafred. In terms of branding sulding up sub-domains would b a great idea. You can actually target a huge list of keywords and diversify these sub domains on various topics for e.g blog.mysite.com, forum.mysite.com, bulletinboards.mysite.com and so on.
