we have a site that sells educational toys and offers group and individual portraits. Is there any trick as to how to optimize the site? If i work both into the description, will it confuse the search engines.

thanks

You need different pages for each product. Your post will get "wigetised", so I'll continue on that basis.

Say you sell educational widgets and also another unrelated service, which itself can be split into two. Call it Mulching. Big mulching and small mulching.

You need a page, and very preferably a GROUP of pages focussed on your educational widgets. DO NOT MENTION Mulching at all, apart from in navigation.

Then you need a group of pages on general mulching, with mulching prices, plus page(s) for big and small mulching, with examples.

I hope that makes sense.

I would say that in this case the Home page can serve as a general about page explaining about company and products, and you should have dedicated landing pages for both the products.

However, if your educational products is the main ROI generating business that Home page can serve or mention educational toys.
