How do I stop my client distributing my SEO audit report externally?

I'm currently carrying out an SEO report for a client whose website had not been achieving their desired rankings in Google.

The report goes into a lot of depth, too much maybe, I'm not sure, but it also helps me as a planning document for when I actually put my recommended solutions into action.

What I'm concerned about is protecting the top quality advice that I send to my client, from the eyes of competitors. For instance I'm taking over the SEO of this site from another company that the client still has a good relationship with. I wouldn't be surprised if that company asked to see this document, but I'm concerned that that would put a whole lot of valuable content in their hands, which I don't really want.

So what would be the best way to stop distribution outside of the client's company? Just make it clear in a contract and at the bottom of every page of the document? And if so what kind of message would I convey?

Interested if anyone else has similar thoughts or experiences.

Talk to a lawyer....yes, having your client sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) should be sufficient.

Ah yes I forgot about NDAs. Thanks
