Introduction pages in different languages

Will single pages in different languages be considered spam?

I'm putting together a site with content in English. The user will have the option to dynamically translate the content to his/her own language.

I'd like to have my site indexed in search engines for each language, so I'm thinking about an introduction page written in each language. Each separate page would have text with one link (linking to my main index page).

Would search engines consider this spam? Any other suggestions on how to get indexed in multiple languages?

If you're targeting customers that speak those languages no, creating pages in each of the languages would not be spam.
