Hi,
without blathering on about the reason why, I need to know that if I put my title tag in a new head section below </body> will google still tie up the title to the keywords.

<head> should go before <body>.

Google may choke on your page or ignore parts of it if you have a non-standard page.

Although, I have wondered about this in the past before, due to the software I was using when the variable I wanted was not available until the parser reached the body section, but I wanted to use it in the header.

I never tried it, though.

Hi,
you hit the nail on the head there as that is the problem I'm having. I have already have reasonable rankings in google so I'm reluctant to give it a try.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Bobby Duplex :)

If you really want to experiment with the positions of various tags/elements on a page, you could always create a few separate test pages.

The "if it works don't fix it" approach to existing pages that are well listed sounds about right though.

Hi,
what I have is a classifieds program but because the title was fixed the same title appeared whether viewing the ad, categories or index page.

I devised a little script that gives me some variation and those variations have got good rankings but are limited in number. If I can get this to work it will give me the ability to have UNLIMITED UNIQUE pages.

I'd most likely swap this for a reasonable number of unique pages that supplied me with paying customers ;)

Hi,
I understand what you mean but if you look at the programs commercial companies use they do in fact do what I want and you find that whatever you are looking for the same companies come up in the searches because of that. The programs that dont do it are the "Noddy" ones that I and most other users use as we dont have the financial clout to buy a proper job.
