Problem with links on my site

Hi,

Just so you know I'm very new to this so please fogive me if I'm asking very simple things.

Basically I have some links on my index page and the link like this:

../search/pagename.asp?variable=xx

Now when I simulate a spider I don't think they are access the links on that page.

Is there a problem with the above syntax?

Should I have:

www.mysite.com/search/pagename.asp?variable=xx

Or is it cos I have the? in and the variable?

I don't see anything way off with either of those links.
