using the free webspace with ISPs to bolster website

My have just started a website, and I look at the stats everyday, and its still depressing.

So, I need to do something. I have asked 100 websites, with about 3% success rate. So, that's not working.

Can I use my free 55 meg webspace of ntl and make a signle page that links to my main website? and then submit it to google?

I guess you are talking about asking for links here? 3% of people you asked linked to you ... this isn't actually too bad!

Building a website takes some work. Don't expect anything miraculous to happen immediately. It will probably take 6 months or so to build some momentum.
