Hi. Is it true that each google page rank has a different value.

For example...
It's not just that PR2 is better than PR1.
It's more like, it progressively becomes harder to move up a notch as you go up.

1 to 2 is not hard, 2 to 3 is harder, 3 to 4 is harder than that... and so on.

So... the value of a backlink from a higher pr site is worth more.

Like if you were going to total up all the PR values... you would give more value to the higher numbers... but not just in that they are higher in the 0-10... more like, exponentially higher.

Is this correct in my thinking?

Thanks.

Yes, it's true. It's on a logarithmic scale.

So as far as I understand the authority required to reach PR 2, you'll have to have the authority-squared to reach PR 3. And the square of that again to reach PR 4.

thanks. I've heard ppl talk about how the pr value on a backlink is worth the pr of the site divided by the number of outbound links on that page.
So if its a site with tons of links, and a pr of say 2. The specific value for that backlink's pr is not much. (because divided by the number of outbound links)

but i was trying to figure or guess what that actual "value" was. Like, if i took a pr 2 site that had (just to keep simple) 2 links.
Then the link pointing to me would be worth a pr 1.

and another site lets say is pr 4 with 2 outbound links and i'm one of those.

so the link to me is worth pr 2.

I was thinking surely the "value" of the pr is not the same as it's label (1 to 10)

So was trying to figure what that value is.

Just so I could compare that idea of dividing the links by the pr. But I would try and use the real value (like you say logarithmic way) instead of just saying 2 or 4 etc

i hope i'm thinking about this correctly.

any help is appreciated.

thanks.
