I'm a newbie at SEO and want to make sure that all of these sites work together to help move my wife up through the rankings.
The main KW phrase that people use is "[snip]". We figured that our .bz website would take advantage of this, but so far the results are unspectacular (the site's been up for over a year, with a facelift in the last month.)
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

What I would do if I were selling red, green, blue widgets and lived in smurfville on Mars would be something like:
Site 1
Red widgets for sale in smurfville, Mars
Site 2
Green widgets for sale in smurfville, Mars
Site 3
Blue widgets for sale in smurfville, Mars
All three sites would have text relevant to that particular site and would not mirror the text on any other site.
I have 3 web sites (today makes 4) for my business. I looked at the words people were searching for to find my kind of business in this part of the world and adapted each site to the words searched.
Because all the sites are unique each site has its own visitors coming in from different word searches. End result is I'm number one for the 5 most common search phrases for the whole county.
It takes a lot more time but the rewards are well worth going the extra mile.
The other main point is if all the sites are the same and another Austin update happens you stand a good chance of all 3 sites being dropped off the face of the earth at once which is why I have more than one site so I don't have all my eggs in just one basket.
Simon.
We had an SEO client that had that happen to them - was a database driven site and due to recursive queries around 500 important dynamic pages were not being indexed at all... (we didn't build the site - just approached to get in search engines)
we built a mirror of the site and converted the dynamic pages to HTML - hosted the site under different domain on different servers in different cities... Site 2 was not touched by any of the major search engines after 6 months submit and wait etc...
lesson = the duplicate content checks work... make the sites significantly different...
