Hi all,

A quick query really to see what you all think, I was just about to write my second blog post and was going to title it
"A none marketing person's view on online marketing"

Then I stopped to think, my main work daily is normally web and hardware related from html/css/php to server's both web and office and desktop work(not so much anymore for the last one), plus I have been landed with studying and implementing online marketing so SEO PPC etc..

I have spent the last two-three months doing a lot of research on this and am about to see if I am any good at it, whilst doing the rest of my work.

So my question is am I a marketing person or not, does my Title for the post stand? I will if all goes to plan be working on this type of project on other peoples sites as well.

In case you are wondering why I do so much Its a small company (very small, read around 2 people plus subbies) and I am a partner in it, so long hours and not a lot of money in the business at the moment and I am the technical one so get all the fun jobs.

Thanks in advance

MrWhippy

Oh and by the way sorry for my lack of posting recently as you can probably imagine i have been very very busy.

I would change it to "A non-marketing person's view on online marketing" :)

Hmmm, I'd say you exhibit the instincts required for becoming a marketing person, taking this post as some evidence. Keep working. ;-)

Traits of a good marketing person include curiosity, common sense, aggressiveness, open-mindedness and, umm, did I say, curiosity?

Caveman,

Thanks for the reply, that makes sense, I think for the moment I will stick with the title that lifeinasia gave me then as I do not quite make the role yet.

Well going of what essex boy has said yes i am very bad at marketing, The thing is like i said in my original post I am more of a techie than a marketing type, however I do have a bit of the gift of the gab and network well.

The reason for the post was that I will be doing some marketing type stuff/ am doing so I guess from what people are saying I am kinda a marketing techie.

cheers for all the replies
