How to find out number of pages of a competitor?

Dear Webmasters,
Could any one shed some light into following, please?

I would like to learn my competitors in order to be able to compete with them at some level.
So I decided to study their website structure.

I am stuck and do not know how to determine website structure of my rival and the number of pages he has?

I know that my rival's majority of pages are indexed in Google in a short period of time. I would like to know why?
Could you any one, please point me at right direction?

How to find out the number of pages and website structure?
Any tools or something like that?

Yahoo Site Explorer should give a good idea of the number of pages, the inbound links, and if you take enough time to anaylize, the internal linking structure.

Thank you for your prompt. I will be exploring about Yahoo Explorer.
I thought that Yahoo search and Yahoo Explorer is the same. It turns out to be two different things and data.

If your competitors have sitemap for their site then it would also help you to get an idea about maximum number of pages. also you will have to studt their internal linking structure.
also you can use site operator in google for getting more details for your competitors site.
