Hey everyone

How long does it usually take for MSN to index your site? I signed up for bcentral (BIG MISTAKE) and it indexed my main page, and thats it, nothing more, apparently in order to get my page indexed i must pay them $80 per page - what a joke...

Google loves me, spiders visit a couple times a week, yet msn hasn't been around in months, Its angering me because its pretty much an entirely new site since last indexed -

if anyone has any tips or comments I would appreciate them

Thanks

MSN / Ink paid inclusion is priced "per page". How about about trying the free submit link (limit 5 pages per day, no guarantees)?

[submitit.bcentral.com...]

Also, external links pointing into your site pages could help.

Part of the service you paid for includes submission to 400 additional engines and directories, so maybe you should review your logs before you write it off:

List of 400:
[submitit.bcentral.com...]

Their rep also says you can check ranking position for selected terms across all 400. I don't have the service, so I can't verify what they said, but that's the word coming from bcentral.

Ya you can check your position for like 8 engines maybe, lil more lil less, as far as the other 300 some go i know it submits to them but never seen anything about checking rank on those

its not that bad, i just think that when you sign up they make it a point to not index any of your other pages because they think they can get you to pay for the other urls to be submitted - my personal view - could be wrong but man none of my other pages have been indexed, ticks me off

Just a slight comment.

MSN indexes nothing that shows in their listings currently. MSNBot may do their stuff in 9-18 months. Any waffle that you are currently getting from bcentral is no different than you will get from any other Inktomi provider (that's where MSN results come from) apart from the fact that you pay more (for the same as the other PFI vendors give you) for less service (IMHO)!

Which makes it even more noteworthy that the free submission link gets you into MSN via INK - which is the only free Inktomi submission url that I'm aware of.

Anyone have any success using this free submission link to get into Inktomi, MSN, Hotbot, OV backfill, etc.?

I dont know if this worked or it was the other links. But links certainly dont point to my sitemap and I had submitted a link to my sitemap hoping that the entire site would get indexed. Well they did crawl the sitemap and since all the widgets and sections were mentioend individually, we do get the occasional visitor every couple of hours from msn thanks to this.

however in terms of deep indexing, msn is absolutely worthless. they still have not indexed the individual pages. If Gates really wants to catch up with Google; all he has to do is "Index the entire web". And of course work on the relevancy of results. sometimes ink gives results which have all the search terms but are totally irrelevant.

What about Goo? That used to work for Inktomi. Is it dead now?
