I just had some changes made to my site and was very excited to see that I moved up from #6 to the #1 position for my major keywords on google. That was a couple of days ago. I since have dropped back down to #6 for some reason which I'm trying to figure out. I had a guy create a site map and that is the only thing that has been changed in the last couple of days....

I was hoping someone here who knows much more than I do could give me suggestions on what they think I could have done to improve my ranking. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

There is not going to be a simple answer for you - there's an entire forum here discussing Google organic search results. One possibility is that your site is #1 when Google pulls search results from one of their data centers and #6 from another data center.

You probably want to look into our Google Search Forum [webmasterworld.com] to begin to learn about how Google works today. There's a Hot Topics area [webmasterworld.com], which is always pinned to the top of the Google forum's index page. It has many good reference discussions where you can get started learning the ropes.

It happen with each and every keyword.......when we start working on any keyword it pick up top ranking for some time and then again it goes back and take time to be on the top again ....this is a basic logic which most of the time turn up right...
