www2.example.com is just a subdomain of example.com, just like www.example.com is a subdomain.

Unless the content on www2.example.com is different from www.example.com, you'll eventually see a duplicate content hit.

If you're going to go the subdomain route, do have different content on each subdomain and use descriptive subdomain names, like forums.example.com, support.example.com, etc.

www2 - probably used for load balancing or somesuch... but those URLs shouldn't really be indexed.
