How can you tell if your web page is blacklisted?

I am taking over a web site and the previous webmaster did a lot of keyword spamming. I cannot find our web site in the first 10 pages of most search engines, but that does not mean it is not blacklisted with some of them.

Does anybody know of a way to tell for sure? Is there a software or web site that will indicate such a status?

You could use the advanced search features of the various search engines. For example, in Google, type...

site:www.example.com

And that will show you all pages Google has indexed from that domain.

Not that I'm aware of. That would of course be a million dollar idea in the SEO/SEM industry.

Usually the above search command will give you a pretty good indication. If there are no results, the site has either not been spidered or, has been blacklisted.
