My questions is what advice can anyone give me to help figure out why people are not subscribing. I've tried sending out a user survey to see what they think, but nobody responded. I've tried sending out personal e-mails to each registrant from me (the company president), but I got only 1 response that wasn't helpful. We built a click-thru demo, and many "How To" pages to educate potential customers. We've also tried multiple landing pages that are focused on specific uses of our service. We do not, however, have a direct sales force like our competitors. That's the thing, our competitors are wildly successful, and we just want a slice of the pie.
I know that once someone becomes a subscriber, they love our service because they have told us so, and we have a very good retention period, most over 1 year, and we have many subscribers over 5 years.
Does anyone have techniques, or ideas of how to improve this situation? I'm out of ideas.
