Index2.htm?

Will the search engines care?

I have a flash intro at my site going to index.htm. After it is through, or the users skips it, it goes to the first page of my site that is index2.htm.

I submitted my site to google with index2.htm after the url.

Will google or any other search engine have a problem since my default page is the flash page at index.htm?

Thanks!

Actually it's the opposite affect. The SE's will like that fact that you've requested they skip the intro page and have gone for index'ing the main page. The downside of this of course if people coming in from SE's wont see it.

A couple of my sites had a PR5 on a welcome page (2 versions of the site to choose from) and after the florida dance the welcome page PR dropped to zero and is no longer cached but the index2.htm pages remained at 5 which further reinforces my belief that SE's really don't like intro pages.

Thanks Simon......not a big deal if they skip the flash. Most probably will skip it anyway....

But good to know that sending index2 to the SE's will work out...

Thanks again....

P.S. - Any good sites/posts concerning SE's. Got my site up, have some meta tags, but not sure how to proceed....
