Hi,

My server has 5 IP addresses on it, one of them is for a website and the other I use for the email server.

I am getting spam warnings about my email server's IP as it was previously mapped to a domain that was marked as a spammy domain (the previous owner of the server), if I map the IP to my main site is that safe?

Which RBL lists the IP? If you inform them of the change of ownership they should remove it from their lists.

I get warnings from yahoo and spamblock.outblaze.com

No idea what RBL is sorry.

Check what warnings/error are given by those services. Why are they blocking the IP?

(An RBL is a Real-time Blackhole List - a list of IPs that are likely to send spam, based on prior behaviour. You can be removed from such lists.)

How long does it take to be removed from these lists?

Is it easier for me just to change hosts? hehe

Try using the multi-RBL checking tool at robtex.com/rbl/ to see what the errors are. Most lists are pretty responsive if the listing is genuinely mistaken. If it was me I'd definitely try to get the listing removed, but that doesn't necessarily make it the easier choice.

The hosting company said that if they assign my mail server's IP with a domain name, things should fix themselves.

Is that true?
