Hi,

Until recently I used overture for checking number of searches on specific search terms.

It seems that this service has been closed. I've tried the free version of WordTracker but get som radically different results than with overture. It says alot less search results.

Any suggestions on a reliable (free) service for this, or is wordtracker allright, and overture a bit too optimistic?

Regards,
Thomas :)

Wordtracker or Keyword Discovery are your best bets. MSN also has a free tool out there. I've done extensive research in this area and those are the ones that we use. The reason for the differences in results from these and Overture are the sample size and sources. Overture obviously used Yahoo; whereas, Wordtracker uses ISPs, Metacrawlers, and Dogpile. Also, keep in mind that the Wordtracker Predict number is an estimated daily value. You will need to multiply that number by 30 to be comparable to Overture.
