Hi

I'm new to this SEO world and I'm wondering what are some of the things that you shouldn't do when you are designing website?
So far I've heard that using Javascript, flash, and website based on images are all bad practices for SEO web design because spiders can't read it? is it true?

Thank you

AFAIK, yes, it's true. When spiders come to your site, they look for text. They look for descriptions, articles, overviews and all kinds of text information. They remember the text that they read on your site.

Then, when somebody searches for some words, a search engine looks if your site has those words. If it does, it will appear in the search result that man (or woman (or a kid)) sees.

So when you put text in images, in Flash, hide it with JavaScript, or put it somewhere else away, spiders just won't find any text on your site and it will never appear in any search results.

So remember the KISS rule, and everything will be fine :)
