Moving hosts and Keeping our position on a different port

Moving a joomla site on port 81 to a different host on port 80

I would like to move my Joomla site from one host to another. The current host uses port 81 for http and the new host uses port 80. I am worried that my site will loose its good ranking for search engines when I move as search engines have all of the pages indexed with :81 in the URLs.

I believe I need to use 301 redirects but the new host is shared hosting and does not allow use of port 81 so I don't see how I can redirect.

Please could any one suggest a migration plan

Short of finding a host which will allow you to have connections to both ports (and then do a 301 redirect from port 81 to 80, it's a very bad idea to run off a non-standard port), I don't think there's any other solution. Speak to your hosting company.
