Would you have 2 Different Hostings for Two Sizable sites

I need a 2nd server, should I have a separate hosting for the second site

Our sites have grown and we now need two servers. While I can buy the 2nd server from the same Host, I can also buy the 2nd server in a different host. What are the pros and cons for it?

Is having 2 separate hosts for 2 different sites better for SEO?

If you are linking the domains back and forth you may want to consider hosting the sites on seperate IP's. Using a different hosting provider in a different state wouldn't be a bad idea. If you are not linking them and haven't had a bad experience with your current host, why not continue to use them?
